状语从句

在复合句中，由从句表示的状语称作状语从句。可分为以下九类： 一、时间状语从句

引导时间状语从句的连词有很多，根据意义和主从句之间的时间关系，可分类如下： I. “当……的时候” ：when, while, as

1. They were surprised that a child should work out the problem they themselves couldn’t. 2. ____________ the day went on, the weather got worse. 3. They had just arrived home ______________ it began to rain. II. before 和after。

地点状语从句的连词有: where，wherever

引导原因状语从句的连词有：as，because，since，now (that)，considering that，seeing that. Eg. 考虑到他们才刚刚学做，他们干得算很不错的了。

引导结果状语从句的连词有：that, so that，so…that, such…that…

引导条件的状语从句的连词有： if，unless，so / as long as , as / so far as，on condition that / provided that，suppose， supposing
