Teaching objectives:

In this class, students will:

1. learn some words and expressions to describe a person;

2.describe a person from the aspects of basic information, appearance, achievements, etc.

3. be able to write a passage of a person;

Get students know how to write a passage about a person from the aspects of basic information, appearance, achievements, etc.

Steps I. Lead-in 1. Lead in the class by guessing who the person is. 2. Brain-storming 3. Introduce the learning goal of this class. Teacher and students interaction Purposes ? 通过描述,让学生猜出他们所熟悉的人物—他们的老师,题材贴近学生活动,更能激起学生学习的兴趣。 ? 同时导入本堂课的教学目标—学会写描写人的文章。

Steps II. Pre- writing Teacher and students interaction T presents a passage about a teacher 1. Ss read and learn the four aspects to describe a person.(basic information, appearance, achievements, evaluation) 2. Ss read and find out the useful expressions used in describing different aspects of a person. ) basic information: 1). … be born in\\on … 2). … is a/an musing/popular… appearance: 1). …be thin\\fat\\short\\tall … 2). ...have\\has small\\big eyes/a round/square face… 3).with... achievements: 1).do well in/ be good at/ have a good command of 2). /be honoured as.... /...devote…to... evaluation: 1). …be popular with … 2). …speak highly of… 3. Ss are divided into 4 groups, and discuss with their partners to describe their Chinese teacher, Lin Juruo, each group describe one aspect of him . 4. T introduces the writing task--- write a passage about Wang Yuanfeng. Purposes ? 通过阅读一篇描写老师的范文,让学生了解可以从概,貌,成,评这四个方面去描述一个人。 ? 从原文中找出描写人的 (概,貌,成,评)这四个方面时常用的相关句型和短语。 ? 通过描述不同的图片,操练写作所需要的词汇,短语和句型,为下面语言的成段输出做准备。 ? 通过讨论描述他们熟悉的语文老师,引导学生在描写人物前,要对其信息进行分类(概,貌,成,评),然后再运用相关短语和句型进行表达,为下面的成篇的语言输出打基础。 writing Writing time ? 每一小组,通过讨论、合作共同完成一篇描述王元锋的文章,培养学生的小组合作学习精神。 III. While- Ss cooperate to write a passage of Wang Yuanfeng, Steps IV. Post- Writing V. Home- work Teacher and students interaction 1. Ask 1-2 groups to present their passage. 2. T presents the sample writing. Purposes ? 学生展示作文。全班共同评价。 ? 老师展示范文。 Improve your letter after class and write it again on your exercise book. ? 学生课后再次修改和完善文章,并写在作业本上。这是让学生不断熟悉写作过程,加深对此类作文的印象,提高写作能力。
