Task 1 self-introduction
Grasp the following sentence patterns a) My name is …… b) I am a ……

e) I like/ am good at / am fond of …… f) I hope/ think/ want …… g) ……
Task 2 learn some vocabulary about subjects
Chinese English Mathematics Physics Chemistry Biology Politics History Geography Arts Music IT (Information Technology) PE(Physical Education) GT(General Technology) Japanese Russian French
Task 3 Imitate the dialogue and learn the following the sentence patterns
Which subject do you like best? Why?
Which subject do you like better between ...and …? Why? I like … because …
I think … is important because …
I would like to study/learn … because … In my opinion … is … so I …..
Ask some of them to show their dialogues to the ss. Learn the following by oneself
a) would like sb. to do sth.想要某人做某事 b) would like sth.想要某物
c) would rather do than do 宁愿做某事，而不做某事 d) would rather do 宁愿做……
e.g.I would like you to help me with my English.
Much as I would like to help you, I have a lot to do.
He would rather have the small one than the big one. Do you feel like taking a rest?
Task 4. listen and learn the dialogue
The students listen to the tape and read it in pairs. Learn the following sentence patterns. 1 How are you doing?情况怎么样啊？/你好吗？ Other sentences:
How are things?情况怎么样？ How are you? 你好吗？
How are you getting along/on?近况如何？ How are things going on?事情发展怎么样？ 2 Oh really? 3 Is that right? 上述句型能够使对话继续。

Think what the main differences and similarities between Junior High school and Senior High school
Discuss the following two questions.
1 Do you think that work at Senior High school is harder than that at Junior High school?
2 Are Senior High teachers similar to Junior High teachers? Task 3 learn the vocabulary in Activity 2 on page 2. a) attitude to sth./doing sth.
b) E.g. He took a friendly attitude to /towards us. c) other phrases:
d) maintain an attitude of …持……态度
e) have a positive/negative attitude towards…对……持积极/消极的态度 f) an attitude to/towards…对……的态度 g) 巧辨异同：manner和attitude
h) attitude一般表示对某事的一时的看法和态度。而manner则指成为一个人的习惯、特征的态度和举止。
