As the world is becoming global, learning a foreign language is necessary besides studying our mother tongue well. For example, learning English is a good way. English is a s 81 that I like as well as Chinese. I still remember how glad I was when I t 82 my English book for the first time. Since then I have regarded speaking English fluently as one of my important aims. Though my level is not very high, I never 1 83 my passion(热情) and I will always keep working hard. Nowadays many children are chosen to learn English at a very y 84 age, but which is the right way we should take?

Now let me share my own ways with you.

Firstly, one who wants to learn English well must be fond of it. As the saying goes, \interest is half of the success!\

Secondly, you have to work hard and always keep a good state of mind. One can never reach the top of mountain without a hard p 85 and enough practice, so do English learners. Remember never to be disappointed when you got low marks or even did not pass the exams. As a learner especially a beginner, to experience failure is not s 86 !

Thirdly, you must stick to what you are learning or have learned. You have to look at the words from time to time by heart, recite the texts again and again. You should have a proper arrangement, or you may learn it for a long time without rest and then leave it alone also for a long time. By doing so, the time you have spent learning is n 87 a waste.

These above are my main ways of learning and I have received some good effects. If you

Greece

think they are also suitable for you, you can just have a try to follow me. D.Answer the questions(根据短文内容回答下列问题)(12分)

Since he thought the death was caused by his carelessness, he always felt guilty. To make matters worse, his wife left him a short time later, leaving him alone with his six-year-old younger son. As time went by, I began to revalue my earlier rough judgment. I knew Alan's now adult son, Ernie. He is one of the kindest, most caring, most loving men I have ever known. Nicholas is very clever. At the age of four, he is studying at college.

Nicholas spoke well before he was one. When he was eighteen months old, he took telephone

messages for his parents in English. At the age of two he began to learn French and soon he spoke it well. The strange thing about Nicholas is that he taught himself to read before he' could speak.

'We knew immediately that ho could read. When he could speak, he corrected my spelling,' said his father. When Nicholas went to school, his teachers gave him pictures to colour, and toys to play with. He tried two different schools, but he was bored and his parents decided that he couldn't stay there. His teachers did not have time to prepare special lessons for Nicholas. The parents had no idea what to do with him. Then A college in London offered to help. Nicholas spends some of his time there, and also studies at home. Now he knows insects by their Latin names. He reads the newspaper every day, and he can play the violin well. 'We don't have any social life,' His father said, 'Nicholas is our dream. He is a clever child and we want to help him in every way. (15.T 16.F 17.F 18. T 19.T 20.F) D.

Halloween is on October 31a every year. There are a lot of families with kids to trick-or-treat in the neighbourhood. It probably would be a little selfish if we only bought candy for ourselves and didn't offer it to the trick-treaters. Maybe we should pick up some candy just in case. I have lots of memories of Halloween as a kid and I look forward to it every year. To celebrate the day, I often dress up and my parents take us out to trick-or-treat. We don't have maw/ neighbours, so my parents drive us to a bigger neighbourhood in town; and we'd go door to door. My parents always go there with us because they don't want us to wander around by ourselves in a strange place. But they love it. They are sometimes so crazy in a good waythat they are determined to make the most of every chance to make us laugh. Like this time, my mum dressed up as a down 'and kept telling old jokes to everyone she met. My dad dressed up as a policeman and wrote parking tickets for people's cars--that were parked in their own parking place!!! I hope we can help to give our children the same kind of memories when they grow up.
