“China’s focus on the development of high-speed railways in the past five years has lifted the country to a leading position in the world, and has brought benefits that are not to be found elsewhere in the world,” experts said.
By the end of 2012, China led the world in terms of high-speed railway mileage with about 9,400 kilometers. By the end of 2016, that figure, more than doubled, reached 22,000 kilometers, according to a report.

Fuxing trains are also used on Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway and Beijing-Tianjing Intercity Railway, but they are allowed to run at 300 kilometers an hour. Fuxing trains on the Beijing-Guangzhou line reached 100% capacity(运营量 ), with 420,000 passengers carried. China has the world’s longest high-speed rail network, with 22,000 kilometers now. About one-third of the country’s high-speed railways were designed to run at a speed of 350 kilometers an hour.
