Step Three Speaking & Communication(第二课堂活动) Step1. Ask student play roles of a party alive. 1. 活动主题: Man and Woman 2. 实现方式:话题演讲 3. 实现步骤:

(1) Introduce the situation to the class before the class.

(2) Ask students use words and expression I gave them to report weather.

(3) Divide students into 6 groups. Each group has 6-8 students.

(4)Every group needs to do some preparation work before class, such as learning words for describing parties, learning how to extend and accept party invitations. What’s more, they need to prepare a role play based on the topic in this part.

(5) In the class, students should do their role plays to the class, each group needs to limit the time no more than 5 minutes.

(6) Each group should recommend 1 person to introduce related information about the food, place, party theme and recommend other person of the group to explain the useful expression for other students.

(7)Teacher needs to make a comment according to each group’s performance.

Step2. Ask students how to invite someone to do something and how they accept or decline invitations in English.

Activity 2 Man and Woman

1).Direct students’ attention to the pictures and answer any questions about vocabulary.

2) Place students in pairs and have them collect imformations together, using ideas from the illustrations or adding their own ideas.

3)Class work. Have students do a survey about man and woman. They can refer to the model survey for help.

4) Ask students to take notes about different ideas that they have had.

5) Pair work. Ask students to tell a partner about their ideas about gender difference. They can refer to the notes they took during the task. As a partner, the students should agree equality between man and woman and explain why. To finish, invite pairs of students to present their ideas before the class.

1. Before playing the video, ask students to read the sentences so they know what to watch and

listen for.

Eg. 1)Let Ss watch the interviews and check (√) True or False. Then correct the false sentences.

2) Ask Ss questions. What do these people look for in a romantic partner? Dan thinks a woman is beautiful “if she’s very natural.” What does Dan probably mean? 3) Ask students to repeat what Dan says.

2. Ask students to the interviews about “Dating.”. Then fill in the blanks with the words they hear to complete the interviews.

1).Explain to students that they are going to watch several people talking about the pictures. Teacher could tell Ss that in this video, Tara and Sun-hee discuss using personal ads to find a romantic relationship.

2). Ask the students to guess what is about to happen..

3). Ask students to look at the words and pictures, and then label the pictures with the correct letters.

4).Check answers.

While You Watch

1.Watch the videos “Looking for Mr. Right.” 2.Play the video.

3.Have students listen and find out the right answers.
