I’m watching TV.
I. Teaching Aims 1.Knowledge and Skills:
a.Students can master the key words and phrases: newspaper, read a newspaper, use, soup, make soup, wash, listen to a CD, exercise and so on. b. Students are able to master the key sentences:
What are you doing? I am watching TV . What is he/she doing? He/She is doing homework. What are they doing? They are eating dinner. 2.Process and Method:
a. Students could use The Present Progressive Tense to talk about what people are doing. b. Students will learn how to describe the daily life by using the V-ing. c. Students can write and read V-ing correctly. 3.Emotion, Attitude and Value
a. Let students practice in pairs to finish the language target. b. Stimulating students’ interests in learning English.
c. Developing students’ cooperation, competition and self-exploration ability in studying. II. Teaching Difficult Points
The usage of The Present Progressive Tense. III.Teaching Important Points
Students can use The Present Progressive Tense to describe and discuss what people are doing in communication. IV. Teaching Tools

VI. Teaching Process Step 1 Leading-in
1. Show some pictures about activities on the screen.
make soup, use the computer, listen to a CD, exercise, talk on the phone, watch TV, do the dishes, read a newspaper, sweep the floor... 2. Students read the phrases after the teacher. 3. Ask several students to read the phrases. Step 2 Presentation
1. Listen to a song: What are you doing? 2. Let’s learn.
Students watch some pictures on the screen or ask some students to perform the actions. e.g. T: What are you doing?
S1: I am listening to music. (Help him/her to answer) T: What are you doing? S2: I am using the computer. T: What is she doing now? Ss: She is reading now. T: What is he doing? Ss: He is washing the dishes. T: What are they doing? Ss: They are dancing.
3.Teach: watching TV, cleaning, reading a newspaper, eating lunch, talking on the phone, exercising...as the same way.
Practice. Ss look at the activities. Then practice the activities with partners. For example:--What is he doing? --He is ....... Check the answers with the Ss. Step 3 Game (Guessing)
1. T: Now let's play a game. What's she/he doing? You must watch the big screen carefully. (Show some pictures on the big screen quickly) Let Ss guess what's he/she is doing?
2. Ss watch and guess the actions. 3. Ask and answer about the pictures. —What’s he/she doing? —He’s/She’s.......
4. T chooses one student from each group to act different activities in front of the class, and then other students guess. If student guess it right, she/he can get one point; if not, she/he can’t get one. Finally, the group gets the most points will be the owner and get gifts. Step 4 Group work
