PART I LISTENING COMPREHENSION (25 minutes, 20 points Section A (1 point each
Directions: In this section, you will hear nine short conversations between two speakers. At the end of each conversation a question will be asked about what was said. The
conversations and the questions will be read only once. Choose the best answer from the four choices given by marking the corresponding letter with a single bar across the square brackets on your machine-scoring Answer Sheet.
1.Woman: Steve,are you driving down to the central office tomorrow? Man: Well,Yes. Do you need a ride?
Woman: My car is in the repair shop, and I really don’t want to take the bus. Question: What is the woman going to do tomorrow?
2.Woman:I’m sorry I haven’t replied to your email before now. But I’ve been tied up with
paper work.
Man: You really need to take some time off.
Question: Why has n’t the woman replied to the man’s email?
3. Man: Excuse me. I wonder if you would mind moving your van. You are blocking the
emergency exit for the gymnasium.
