Unit3《Celebration》Lesson3 Weddings

教材分析:本课是带有语言功能的阅读课,主要训练学生通过阅读获取信息,提炼信息的能

力,并在文章中渗透情态动词的用法,为下一课情态动词用法的学习奠定一个语言基础。新课标强调让学生在语境中学习、理解和运用语言,所以本课创造了讨论婚礼这一话题的语言氛围,并设计具体情景来完成语言的产入和产出的过程。

教学目标:1. 掌握有关婚礼的新单词 2. 获取有关外国婚俗的信息 3. 运用情态动词进行表达,交流 4. 用英语讨论中国的婚俗 教学步骤:

I. Lead in: 1. Begin the class with talking about the teacher’s clothes

and create the

atmosphere of talking about weddings.

2. Present the vow at the wedding to arouse students’ interest of talking

about the weddings and have a deeper understanding about wedding.

II. Learning the new words:

1. Present the word matching

2. Look at the pictures with the new words in ten seconds 3. Match the new words with the definitions.

4. Look at the pictures again and review the new words. III. Understanding the texts and collecting information:

The first article: Weddings in Indonesia

1. Read through the internet page and solve the teacher’s problem of

attending the Indonesian Wedding

2. Present a chart showing what to do and what not to do during the wedding 3. Enjoy the pictures about Indonesian Weddings. The second article: Greek Weddings

1. Play the video of a Greek wedding and ask the students to give

information about what happens before, during and after the wedding. 2. Present the chart showing the above information. IV. Discussion

1. Find out the modal verbs in the information concluded

2. Talk about the wedding customs in China using the modal verbs.
