现在，新一轮的NBA赛正进行得如火如荼。火箭、湖人、爵士……各支球队厮杀激烈，但许多同学都被那些奇怪的队名弄得晕头转向，纷纷写信来询问有关NBA各支球队名字的由来。神通广大的Sunny经过多方打探，终于拿到了第一手的资料，现在就来看看吧： Have VOU ever wondered how Your favorite NBA team received its famous name? All NBA teams have an interesting story or a history be-hind their names．some of the names reflect the city’s culture or history，othors came from previ-ous owners and many were selected through“Name the Team”contests．

For teams like Los Angeles and Utah．the names were not always a reflection of the city，Even though Los Angeles has no lakes． the Lak—er name has been a city treasure for almost 40years．Before going Los Angeles．the team O-riginated in Minneapolis．Minnesota，ln 1948．team officials chose the name for its direct rela—tionship to the State’S motto．“The Land Of10．000 Lakes．”The team name name went d．tieafter moving to Los Angeles in 1960． Because Utah’s team originated in New Or-leans．Louisiana。it was called the Jazz．in 1974．New Urleans club Officials chose the name to represent the city for its reputation aS the“jazzcapital of the world” The name stayed with the team even after finding a new home in Salt Lake City，Utah in 1979．

犹他爵士队来自于路易斯安那的新奥尔良，因此被称为爵士队。1974年，新奥尔良俱乐部官员也选定此名来代表这个拥有“爵士乐之都”美誉之称的城市。1979年该队搬到了犹他州盐湖城的新家，但这个名字仍然被继续沿用。
