Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came?

第三课时 (Section A3a-3c)

【学习目标】

1. 通过阅读一篇关于美国阿拉巴马州遭风暴过后人们互相帮助的故事,巩固过去进行时的用法。

2. 通过阅读故事内容,引导学生认识到家人同心协力和邻里之间互帮互助的重要性。

【学习重点】

★重点单词:storm(暴风雨),wind(风), light(光;光线;光亮), report(报道;公布), area(地域;地区), wood(木;木头), window(窗;窗户), flashlight(手电筒;火炬), match(火柴), beat(打败;敲打), against(倚;碰;撞), asleep(睡着), rise(升起;增加;提高), fallen(倒下的;落下的), apart(分离;分开).

【学习目标】

1. 复习使用过去进行时谈论过去发生的事情。

2. 复习when 和while 引导的时间状语从句,并能够掌握when 和while 引导的时间状语从句中时态的区别。

【学习重点】

★重点单词:icy(覆盖着冰的;冰冷的),kid(开玩笑;欺骗),.

★重点短语:have a look(看一看), wake up(醒来), right away(立刻;马上), because of(因为). ★重点句型:

1. —What was he doing when the rainstorm came?(当暴风雨来临的时候他正在做什么?) —He was reading in the library when the rainstorm came.(当暴风雨来临的时候他正在图书馆里看书。)

定义:过去进行时表示在过去某一时刻或某一段时间内正在进行的动作。 结构: 过去进行时由was /were+动词-ing形式构成。 2. when和while的用法区别有哪些?

when 和while 都有“当......时候”的意思。 while引导的时间状语从句多用于进行时态,而when多用于一般时态。 (三)请读下列动词短语,判断出哪些属于延续性动作,哪些属于瞬间动作,把它们归类在下列表格中。

when既可以表示某一时间点,又可以表示某一时间段,while 只能表示某一段时间。

1. 让学生朗读《课前预习方案》第(三)题表格中的短语,并判断出哪些属于延续性动词,哪些属于瞬间动词。

2. 让学生仿照例句在草稿纸上写出其他三组句子。

3. 请3名同学把句子写在黑板上,师生共同核对答案并理解句子的意思。 活动三:补全4b的短文。 1. 请1名同学朗读完整的短文。 2. 师生共同核对答案并理解短文内容。 活动四:结对活动。

1. 观察4c的表格,想一想上星期天的这些时候你正在做什么?完成表格的第一栏内容。 2. 用What were you doing...?询问搭档在这些时候正在做什么?完成表格的第二栏。
