Review the text of Unit 2 Step 2 Language practice
1. Read through the example sentences in the box with the whole class. 2. Ask them what language point they illustrate. (Talking about manners and customs ; using modal verbs for obligation. )
3. To summarise grammar: The using of must, mustn't, can and can't. Step 3 Listening
1. Listen to a teenager talking about life. Check (√ ) the things he must and mustn't do.
2. Listen again. What two things does he say he can do? Step 4 Exercise
1. Write some things you can, must and mustn't do at home in Activity 4. 2. Write some things you must or mustn't do at school. 3. Complete the sentence with can or can't.
4. Complete the sentences with the words and expressions in the box in Activity 8. Step 4 Work in pairs.

Tell each other three things you must do at home and three things you mustn't do. Are your home rules different or the same? Step 5 Play a class game.
Choose a word or an expressions from the box and describe it to the class. The class guesses what it is. Step 6 Exercise
1. Listening: Wb Ex. 7 & 8.
2. Complete the passage with the words in the boxes. Step 7 Work in pairs.
Look at the signs in Activity 11 and guess what they mean. Then tell class about other signs you can think of.

1. Read through the information with the whole class. 2. Discuss the contents with the students. Step 9 Module task:
Writing advice for foreign guests to a Chinese family.
1. Work in pairs. Make notes on what you must, mustn't or can do. 2. Write your advice.
3. Look at the other students' advice. Choose the five most important pieces of advice about customs in China. Step 10 Homework
Finish the exercise in the workbook Ex. 9, 10, 11 & 12.
