探究一:neither的用法
(1)作代词,意为“两者都不”,常用作单数,与介词of连用,作主语时谓语动词用 形式。
Neither of them knows English.他们俩都不懂英语。 He answered neither of the letters.他两封信都没回。
(2)作形容词,意为“两者都不”,与单数名词连用作主语时,谓语动词用 形式。
Neither bikes is made in Beijing.这两辆自行车都不是北京制造的.
(3)作副词时,意为“也不”,常构成“ + + ”结构,用于表示上文主语的某种否定情况也适用于下文主语。
She can’t swim,and neither can I.她不会游泳,我也不会。
拓展:“so+连系动词be/情态动词/助动词+主语”结构,表
示 。

(4)neither用作连词,常用短语为neither...nor...,表示“既不……也不……”。连接两个并列成分作主语时,谓语动词必须与nor后面的名词或代词在人称及数上 ,即所谓的 。
探究二:as...as的用法
as...as意为“ ”,其中的第一个as为 ,其后通常接形容词或副词(用原级),第二个as可用作 (后接名词或代词)或 (后接从句)。
拓展:使用时应注意以下几点。
(1)在否定句中,第一个 as 也可换成 so。
例如:He doesn’t study as hard as his brother.他学习不如他弟弟努力。
(2)在该结构的两个as之间通常接形容词或副词的原级,但若涉及数量或程度,可用“as much+不可数名词+as”和“as many+复数名词+as”。
I haven’t got as much money as I thought.我不像原来想象的有那么多钱。
(3)第二个as后接从句时,该as通常为连词,但有时这个as还充当其后从句的主语或宾语,此时该as实为关系代词。
