大连雅思培训之雅思口语话题:manner

这个季度的雅思口语中有一个话题是manner，我们熟悉的意思是“举止”“礼貌”，但是在今天的句子中它的意思是“方式”。我们来看两个例句： She answered in a businesslike manner.

The manner in which the decision was announced was extremely regrettable.

“方式”除了用manner，其实我们更熟悉的词是way。比如： That's not the right way to hold a pair of scissors. I'm not happy with this way of working. It's not what you say. It's the way you say it. I hate the way she always criticizes me. You have to do it my way! 还有一个词也可以表示“方式”，fashion。通常我们会使用的搭配是in （a） … fashion。如：

How could they behave in such a fashion?

She was proved right, in dramatic fashion, when the whole department resigned.
