Unit 4 How do you get to school?
Learning aim:
Learn to talk about how to get to places. Class hour: Five
Period 1 Section A (1a----1c) Learning aims:
At the end of the class, students can:
1. use the following words and phrases: train, bus, subway, ride, bike, get to, take the subway, ride a bike.
2. use the following sentences:
1) How do you get to school? I walk./ I ride my bike./ I take the bus. 2) How do you get to school?
I get to school on foot./ I get to school by bike/ bus.
3) How does Mary get to school? She takes the subway./ She gets to school by subway.
Step1: Daily greetings.
T: Good morning, everyone. S: Good morning. T: How are you?
S: I’m fine, thank you. And you?
T: I’m OK. Thank you. Sit down, please. Step2: Show “Learning aims”. (1’)
T: Today we’ll learn Unit 3 Section A (1a-1c). Please look at our “Learning
aims” (Then I read it slowly.)

Step3: Show “Guide One” to the students. Guide One (8’)
Please read and try to translate the following conversations, and then recite them within 2 minutes.
1. How do you get to school? I walk./ I ride my bike./ I take the bus. 2. I get to school on foot./ I get to school by bike/ bus.
