1. neither… nor
(1) Neither置于句首时，neither…nor…所连接的分句均须主谓倒装： Neither does he play the cello nor his brother.
(2) Neither…nor…连接主语时，后面的动词在数上应与靠近的主语取得一致（就近一致原则） Neither my sister nor I (be) going to have classes. Neither she nor he (be) going to have the meeting.
(3) Neither…nor…作”既不…也不…”解，表示否定的意思，谓语动词必须用肯定式： Neither you nor your brother （ can ）do it.
2. either…or…动词的数和最靠近的主语保持一致（就近一致原则）
Either you or he (be) wrong. Either he or I (be) wrong. 3. not only…but also…
(1) 后面须接平行结构： She speaks not only English but also French. (连接两个宾语)
(2) not only…but also…着重于but also后面的部分，故谓语动词的数与but also后面的主语取得一致。Not only you but also he (be) invited. Not only he but also I (be) invited. (3) not only…but also…在实际应用中出现以下几个变体： a. not only…but…(省略also)：
He not only has read the novel but remembers what he has read. b. not only…also…(省略but)：
