This is an article on the LAN, WAN and the Internet and other networks of knowledge related to the report. From the report could have a lot of knowledge and understanding of the concept described by the report will deepen knowledge about the network.

The LAN is a local area network, which is a network that connects computers within a limited geographical area, usually within a single office or building. WAN is a cross-regional data communications network, which often includes a country or region. Bridging large physical range, the coverage range from tens of kilometers to thousands of kilometers, it can connect to multiple cities or countries, or across several continents and can offer long-distance communications, the formation of international remote network.

Internet is a global pool of information resources, as many small, interconnected network made of a logical network, each subnet in a number of computers I connected it to the exchange of information resources for the purpose of the agreement based on some common, and through Many routers and made public Internet, it is a sharing of information resources and resource collection. For the LANS:

(1) The coverage of relatively small local area, generally within a few kilometers, compared to very small local area covered by the Internet.

(2) Compare the layout of the network rules, in general does not exist within a single LAN switching nodes and the routing problem, and compare the relative safety of the Internet

(3) Main bus topology and ring type, structure is simple.

(4) LAN is widely used in office automation, manufacturing automation and information processing systems. Relative to the exchange network, the application has some limitations. For the Internet:

(1) It is a small-scale local area network (LAN), city-scale regional network (MAN) and large-scale wide area network (WAN) such as the composition, the widest domain.

2

(2) The Internet is a vast world-scale information and services resource. It’s most extensive coverage.

(3) The Internet is a global human society, the first-ever library and a global forum. It is the largest reserves of information, speed fast, and cost the biggest. (4) The most extensive use of the Internet, apply to most degrees. For the WANS:

(1) Wide area network is composed of many switches, the processor and input / output devices to send and receive packets only through a computer processing to complete. Easier than the LANS.

(2) Wide area network can provide two kinds of connection-oriented and connectionless service mode, corresponding to two kinds of service mode.

(3) Wide area network, there are two methods to construct link program is divided into: point to point, point to the many and Radio Relay program.

(4) Wide area network connection speed is relatively fast, the Internet less than the applicable situations, but more than local area networks, higher technical requirements

There are also some benefits for the ICT at each part.

(1) local area network can be rapid and effective control of a region a lot of information for ICT to provide first-hand information and data, make rational use of resources; local area network can be done in an area of more than one computer connected to a relatively faster speed to improve information transfer speed, thereby enhancing efficiency; ICT and IT are closely linked, local area network will be a corresponding increase in the presence of IT industries in the region.

(2) WAN security a high with the combination of ICT, the higher the confidentiality of information. WAN speed of network faster, this allows the effectiveness of ICT can play a maximum amount of information obtained will be greater. Over wide area network structure, ICT adaptation will be relatively more selective.

(3) The amount of information the Internet is the largest and most comprehensive, ICT can be the biggest play. The Internet has a widely coverage, more user-friendly exchange of each step. Strong continuity of the Internet, ICT access to information

more smoothly.

Not only for ICT, but also for the ICT’s managers, there have lots of benefits. (1) Local area network can provide technical support for the company, the

company will generate substantial savings, resource sharing, can make management more closely between.

(2) WAN is for companies to provide more information resources, managers may

choose to expand the space for effective business management.

(3) The existence of the Internet to facilitate the exchange of information and

timely updates, you can bring convenience to the administrator management is conducive to innovation within the company to accelerate the business operation.

Information technology in many innovative technologies exists in the same. Wi-Fi and Ethernet.

Wi-Fi is a personal computer, handheld devices and other devices wirelessly connected technologies. Wi-Fi is a wireless network communication technology, brand, from the Wi-Fi Alliance held.

Ethernet refers created by the Xerox Corporation by Xerox, Intel and DEC jointly developed baseband LAN specification.

The advantages of Wi-Fi can easily search to a wireless network, eliminating the region, which makes the Internet more convenient to save more than the machine operation cost, improve efficiency of enterprises.

There are many advantages of Ethernet. Reduce conflict, communication more efficient; and the ability to full-duplex working, communication faster; the other is the bandwidth of exclusive. Conducive to enterprise management, enterprise managers and employees to increase communication between the internal information update help.

Adoption of the report, we can grasp a lot of knowledge to the selection and application of future networks.
